Another new airline into STN
From June 4th, Norwegian Air Shuttle (Norwegian) will operate five times weekly Oslo-Stansted roundtrips. Flights will be from Oslo's Gardermoen airport, as opposed to Ryanair who use Torp (also a Ryanair base). Bookings are now being accepted at norwegian.no

Norwegian Air Shuttle AS is an independent, privately-owned airline employing almost 300 people. In September 2002 Norwegian launched a programme of low-cost domestic flights between Oslo and Stavanger, Bergen, Trondheim and Tromsø using a fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft. From 5 April 2002 we will operate low-cost flights to destinations in Spain and Portugal. The company has operated routes between destinations in western Norway on behalf of Braathens since 1993, and this operation now covers some 50 scheduled daily departures using Fokker 50 aircraft. From 1 April 2003 startet to fly regional routes in the north of Norway, also using Fokker 50s. We have been awarded the routes Bodø-Andenes-Tromsø and Tromsø-Lakselv. However, since our strategy is to focus on low-cost flights using Boeing 737 aircraft, the Fokker 50 operation will therefore be discontinued by the end of the year. In 2002 Norwegian Air Shuttle AS achieved operating revenues of NOK 380 million. The company’s head offices are located at Fornebu, just outside of Oslo.
