Toronto 'surprised' by snow and ice

TORONTO, April 4 /CNW/ - The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) advises travellers that due to unseasonable severe and extended icing conditions at Toronto Pearson International Airport the GTAA has used its entire 700,000 litre supply of deicing fluid. Normally, this amount of deicing fluid would cover 30 days of winter operations. Deicing in these winter conditions is essential for safe aircraft operations and as a result many flights may continue to be delayed and/or cancelled.

While the Airport Authority is working aggressively to restock, most suppliers are not positioned to have supply readily available at this time of the year.
Passengers can expect restricted operations for the next 24 hours after which time sufficient supply and moderating weather conditions are expected to combine to allow a return to normal operations.
Unseasonable my @ss, this isn't the UK. Guess they don't get the Weather Channel in the ivory towers at YYZ. Bl00dy incompetence
