BA to suspend Israeli flights
18/03/2003 - 12:18:26 pm

British Airways is suspending services to Kuwait and Israel because of the imminent Iraqi war, it was announced today.

The last London to Kuwait flight was operating today and London-Tel Aviv services will cease after a final flight tomorrow.

“We are suspending services in the light of (Britain's) Foreign Office advice about travel to these areas,” said a BA spokeswoman.

BA normally operates one flight a day between Heathrow and Kuwait, while there is a twice-a-day Heathrow-Tel Aviv service.

There will be just one London to Israel flight tomorrow before the service is suspended.

BA has already reduced its London to Dubai services from two a day to one. It is continuing to fly to Doha and Bahrain as well as to Jeddah and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.

TEL AVIV

As pax airlines cutting or stopping flights to the region, what about freighters?

Does anyone know if any of the secheduled boys have suspended any services down that way?

Less pax aircraft = greater demand for freighters!!

Anyone have any news on this side?

Question Larnaca switch?

This mornings incoming Middle East flights showing a Paphos stoppover. Any reason for this? Is it permanent, or was Larnaca temporarily indisposed?

Newswatcher-From what I understand LCA is closed due to runway resurfacing (I think) and PFO will be used for another week or so (I think), all AUH/DXB/BAH/RUH flights have been going thru PFO since Monday (again, I think!!)
