MJBD and others,

The reason easyJet shares are trading so poorly while Ryanairs fly high is that the city is only too well aware of all the industrial unrest at ej. They could not help but be aware that the management has alienated it's pilots by repeatedly refusing to concede a decent lifestyle and salary for it's flight and cabin crews and with an order of 120 aircraft pending, they are going to fing it very hard to crew the aircraft, all of which makes easyJet a very poor buy!!

Oh, yes, I wonder if the city was impressed about the £10 million bonus given to it's 38 managers, while the pilots who contributed in a big way to the £71 million profit this year got nothing?

Colonel Kirk

You are so desperate to tell the planet how EZ is bad... It is unbelievable. Get another job if you are not happy. It is just an advice.
Ask for the pilots' salaries and T&C in :
Cityexpress, Flybe, KLM UK, even Air 2000, Airtours, Britannia, BA... And then come back.

You are not the only one working hard. Because of the pressure on the industry the trend is for increase of productivity across the board. Everybody is working hard and gets roster changes...etc. But in most company, it is for less money.

Oh pulleeease! Fly Star, I'm just telling it like it is, but what I think may not be important, it what the City thinks and why our share price is so low, and I'm just explaining why!!
I do know what the conditions are like in all those airlines, and one you have not mentioned - Ryanair who is basically the same as us. easyJet could have easily been the market leader in the low cost segment- indeed that is what was promised to the many that joined the company in the last few years, but it has not happened because of the appalling way the airline is managed, and I'm just pointing out that the share price reflects that!!!

Fly Star;

Read another comment on the ej managers thread about the conduct and attitude of UK pilots vis a vis continental ones. Your attitude is a classic malaise of Britain's vocational labour forces: equalise downwards. not seek parity with a higher level.

In February ej was a recommended BUY share. What little they knew was going to happen. Management, by their own hand, may have driven down the share price. Their bonus will help recover the loss in profit when they sell their holdings on maturity. HM!!

The wisdom and success of buying GO has still yet to be proved. It will take at least 1 years results of the combined airlines to prove the case. Then might be a time to consider rewards, if it is success. Now is disgracefully & insensitively too early.

Fly Star, you are probably not aware that the Colonel has actually DONE a lot more for the crews in EZY than most other people, and got proverbially stuffed for it. I HAVE a lot of respect for him and the hard work he has done in the past.

First.... Important bit... Merry Xmas everybody!

mjenkinsblackdog

I work for a regional operator where the money isn't great compared to the rest of the industry, and where we get plenty of disruptions... Seeing you guys keeping on complaining about easyJet is a little bit like seeing spoiled kids complaining about the last toys they had for Xmas.
OK, you work hard... Everybody does and at the end of the day, in a more and more competitive market, people are going to work closer to the legal limits. It is only logic.
But, salaries in EZ are good compared to most companies... You work hard, you get good money. If you fly lots af sectors, you get even more with a very competitive sector pay... We get less than £1.5 an hour on duty... So... Think a bit.

Maybe you have very valid point to be all very unhappy. But maybe you could show your discontent on more private forums, because to lots of people, it looks like you are all complaining even though you probably work for one of the best employer in the country... At least as far as T & C's are concerned...(not TLC )

And by the way :

Happy New Year!!!

Fly Star

Your attitude is depressing.

The C in T+C's stands for CONDITIONS!

PLEASE aim a little higher.

Maybe you have very valid point to be all very unhappy.

Happy New Year.
