I just noticed that. It is interesting. The press release on Aer Arann's website (skyroad.com) has also disappeared. Wonder if they are reconsidering...

Word over this side of the water is they pulled the route after reviewing their position following Ryanair's announcement (which apparantly came as a surprise to NCL airport also). I would expect Aran would never have considered NCL had Ryanair been in the frame but also interesting that Ryanair were not prepared to take on BACX on the route but stamped on RE very quickly. Continuing with their plans for NCL would undoubtedly be risky for RE, especially as FR's fleet grows.

From 4 BA J41s a day to 3 RE ATRs to a single FR 737 in one swoop. No question who the losers are (travelling public who have been deprived of frequency and choice and NCL airport who now must face up to a Ryanair monopoly on the route) so who's the winner ?

Will anyone else try to compete with FR on the route? Euroceltic? Eastern? flybe? .... Easyjet, from their new base... now that WOULD be interesting....
