QF to buy a 25% stake in Air NZ

Just been on the local news (NZ) - apparently a press conference will be held on Monday am (probably about 1700Z Sunday), local news link here
(sorry NZOOM won't cut and paste easily!)
What will this do to a) the STAR alliance and b) One World???[

I find it ironic that an Australian company is going to save a NZ one from certain oblivion when the Sheepshaggers didn't lift a finger in the Ansett debacle. It speaks volumes about the quality and integrity of the two different nationalities.

Sometimes you wish you never posted; this is not really what I wanted to happen - the endless 'NZ killed Ansett' saga.

How does the QF announcement affect the NZ domestic seen?,are we going to see VB next and a price war.How will the likes of Freedomair stand, and will Jetconnect simply take all the low cost market share.
