Caledonian Airborne Engineering
Anyone know what has happened to the old hangars that Caledonian Airborne enginnering had in ABZ. Had a lot of friends up there but have lost touch.

Yes the Sudan Airways F-50 was unusual. There was also a Palestinian Airlines F-50 in a few years ago. No doubt for similar reasons! Still, it made you look twice!!

Yes I had forgotten about the Palestinian F50s, if I remember they were in for a hand back check. With the Sudan Airways F50 I think it was bought on the intention to charter it out. Unfortunately nearly all the lifed items were out of life, especially the engines! Looking back on it there was never a dull moment working for Caledonian.

I hope it ended up at a good home. After all the hard graft that was put into. The funny thing is that it had a sister aircraft out in Khartoum, and the one that arrived in ABZ was seen as the better one.:

If the two concerned were ST-ALN (c/n 20157) and ST-ALO (c/n 20158) then their fate is as follows........
'57 is fate unknown
'58 went as EP-LBV on 00/07/2001 to KISH AIR, and is apparently still there.
NB. This is from unofficial sources on the internet, and may be wrong!!
