To be honest, both myself and the F/o watched with interest from another stand waiting to see what the crew did. Now we did have other things to do but in the time that the 727 shut down to the crew all walking into the terminal I did not once see them look at the wheels.

I may be wrong.

But then I maybe wrong regarding the wing not touching the grass. Maybe it did?

As it was clearly a positioning sector, I was quite surprised not to see someone down at the gear not long after shutdown. Unless of course they we're in the bog cleaning their undies! Now that I can understand!

Question

Quote:

"G-OPMN is the last
passenger carrying B727 operating in Europe."

I don't think so, besides the two with JAT (about to go on lease in Africa), Aviogenex has three.

Capt Airprox its hard to be perfect.

Dear Prox,

Read your drivel regarding the 727 arrival and I can only say you must have greased it on every time and never over cooked the brakes in your career.

As for inspecting the tyres as you taxied past, well you must have 6 million dollar man zoom vision from your cockpit.

I suggest you keep your gob shut as these events have a habbit of coming back to haunt you.

Blokes like you point the finger all too often, but when it comes to admitting your downfalls.....well its all brushed under the carpet.

Seems the last pax 727 may well have been temp laid up, but you dont spend megga bucks on a Super 27 mod to have it made into tin foil.

My guess is that it will be sold on to some more deserving part of the world to serve out its life doing what it does so well.......delivering the goods like it has done for the last 25 years or so.

You may think I have a bee in my bonnet but when you read the crap on here about what people think is going on when in reality they just like to **** stir.

The 727 aint dead yet and will probably outlive a many of its modern plastic brothers.

When you have done it all and know it all......then perhaps you can have the right to judge.

Coop
