Exclamation easyJet Zürich expansion

Upbeat article in the English language Swiss News has easy expanding ZRH routes in "Autumn 2002" to include LPL, BCN, AMS and ATH. A bit of a surprise, considering ZRH is an expensive field, although "joining up the dots" otherwise makes sense.

Then later, when the GO dust has settled, CPH, FCO, PRG, ALC, Venice, Ibiza, Bologna, Naples should be added, according the article.

Are there enough drivers? It is certainly good news for Zürich anyway.

good on Easy and Go. Easy can easily take all the pax from narrow Emb145 of swiss. Easy with compatitive price and more room is in win win situation.

Shutty - are you serious or have you been at the mini-bar again?

It's good news for Zuri, 'cos the airport's suffered terribly in the past 12 months, but maybe not so good news for its major tenant.

mdb3,

Well it's a bit cheaper than Geneva (not much really) and the pay there keeps body and soul together (more than could have been said for Crossair, or Flightline for instance).

Swiss towns are more expensive than London, but the UK EZY pay has been better that the Swiss EZS recently - pay rises and Luton bonus passed Geneva by - apart from a small cost of living correction. same ballpark, different union.

Quite how ZRH is to be administered remains to be seen - whether it will be a base or nightstop and with which crews...
