The bar would be surrounded by Russian males - usually age 40/50+, drunk, obnoxious, loud and enjoying the company of their new ‘comrades’ they have met at the bar.
At the other end of the room, sitting to the side, would be a large number of their wives - usually 20 something, very attractive, ....

Just to the north of the airport is a rough strip marked on both ends “Belly Landing”. I never noticed it all the times I flew in there but it is quite obvious on google earth. Is this a leftover from when the airport was an Israeli base?

Given the sand/dust storms they get, and how clear the writing is on the Google image, I’m surmising it’s a fairly recent addition.
