Qantas

So probably not too surprising to anyone, but Qantas have stepped up their plans for the LHR-SYD proposal. BBC News link
Chief exec has gone on record saying an order will be placed next year and likely to be a large one, ready for service in 2022

Candidates are either a modified A350-1000 (need extra range) or the B777-8 that is still in development.

Also worth mentioning that the recently launched LHR-PER are average 92% Load, which given it's only been operating a few months seems very good.

It is good re. PER-LHR, but don't forget the flight starts in MEL.

The 777-8 would also need modification to do SYD-LHR.
