New routes and routes ending

There is lots of new routes and route changes on all the different threads so I have made this thread to cover them all. So you can put it on the airport thread and this one if it helps.

I expect that airlines are holding back until our economic future is clearer.

OK, am I missing something here? The OP’s first reply.... is from the OP? Almost as if he forgot to switch usernames? But why would you even bother with different usernames on here anyway?

I didn't get as far as hitting "Send" with my response.

But I had been going to say that the idea of putting all airline and route updates in a single thread seems rather pointless.

All that posting things twice will achieve is to annoy the mods.

Except that for those who only follow a few airports can be alerted to developments which might also affect theirs. For example, there was a recent post on the Cardiff thread that pointed out that TUI were offering longhaul holidays using the new Qatar service. This prompted me to check TUI from EDI, to find that there is a similar, but more limited, offer from there also.

All new routes

Hi there has been a lot of airline route announcements and some people may not have heard of them so I decided this was the right forum to round them all up.

Wizzair change to Wizzair UK code is W9 and add :

London Luton to Kharkiv 3x weekly A32S from 13NOV18
London Luton to Lisbon 1x daily A32S from 28OCT18

The following all change to W9 code numbers from London Luton:

Eilat/Ovda eff 28OCT18 2x weekly A320
Grenoble eff 15DEC18 2x weekly A320
Tromso eff 14DEC18 2x weekly A320
Verona eff 15DEC18 2x weekly A320

Jet2 expand Manchester Network:

Bourgas eff 06MAY19 2x weekly B737-800
Chania eff 07MAY19 1x weekly (2x weekly from 24MAY19) B737-800
Izmir eff 01MAY19 1x weekly (2x weekly from 25MAY19) B737-800
La Rochelle eff 25MAY19 1x weekly B737-800

Wizzair add new 3x weekly Budapest to Doncaster from 29OCT18 on A320

Etihad change Manchester to 1x daily B777-300ER and flight EY015/016 changes to B787-9 1x daily eff 01NOV18 instead of 2 daily B777-300ER then flight EY021/022 gets the B787-9 and EY015/016 goes back to B777-300ER eff 31MAR19.

Primera cancel the following flights from Birmingham:

Tenerife South
Alicante
Gran Canaria
Reykjavik (selected flights only)

Hopefully these might be interesting to you and helpful sorry if you have seen these before its just in case people haven't seen these on other threads.

All the best.

So with 2018 gone and 2019 just beginning there are quite a few new routes with:

·SAS starting new Mancherster to Aarhus service
·Loganair to start new Glasgow to Dusseldorf service
·Qatar to go back to daily on the cardiff flight
·Tui will base the 737MAX8 at Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle and Leeds in addition to Manchester.
·Manchester to Newquay will move to all Jets for S19
·Philadelphia to Manchester downgrades from A330-200 to B767-300 for S19
·Jet2 add Manchester to Cologne and Glasgow to Krakow for W19
·Qatar increase Gatwick to Doha to 21 weekly for S19
·Garuda are adding one time service from Heathrow to Denpasar
·American are changing Heathrow to Chicago to 2x daily B787-9 and 2 daily B787-8 instead of 4x daily B787-8.

Best Regards

Agree. The schools are back now so it will quickly drift down the list.

You might find some more enthusiasm for this over at FlyerTalk...

If anyone is particularly interested in following market wide route/fleet changes, aviator.aero have a decent free daily newsletter
