So four "new" QTs joining JOTA with two provisionally based at SEN and two elsewhere seems to be the current consensus.
And just for completeness I repeat this from the SEN thread:
JOTA CEO Andy Green quoted in Airliner World magazine April 2017: "The company is negotiating to acquire a pair of dedicated 146QT freighters which will offer a significant increase in capacity and capability without breaking the bank. ......diversifying into the jet cargo sector waters down our market risk. If the ACMI sector dries up we won't have all our eggs in one basket. We have canvassed a lot of potential customers and there is plenty of interest. We see a need to support not only other carriers but also postal and courier contracts. The QT plugs the gap between ATR/ATP and 737 freighters. Jota's expansion is driven entirely by market demand. We have no real thoughts about whether we're going to get two aircraft or ten. There is plenty of availability in the second-hand market so we don't have to panic when it comes to acquisitions."

Excellent, just as my source stated. Let's hope that at least two of them will indeed be based at SEN.

Just been looking at the operations of three three BAe 146s over the last seven days. G-JOTS has been operating for Hop all week in France; G-SMLA has done a few football charters from Stansted and Luton to Manchester Liverpool etc. while G-JOTR has been doing football charters over last weekend including taking Man U back to Manchester from Luton after the team played at Brighton! All this week it has been operating for BA Cityflyer into London City. No revenue flying from Southend just positioning flights. The. nature of the business I guess.

Yes it is the nature of their business. They have to be based somewhere. But presumably income is derived from landing and parking fees, refuelling, rent on engineering bay(s) in hangar and office space. However, I do hope their fleet doesn't occupy the parking bays for long periods because that would restrict the number of diversions accepted.

They have no scheduled services, including no routes from SEN. They are a charter airline. Charter airlines only earn when they are flying.
For the aircraft not to be parked up at SEN or in and out on a regular basis
is good news for the airline. Just not the spotters.

Jota have their own designated parking inside their hangar and on the apron immediately outside the hangar. So no risk of affecting any diverts!

Unfortunately it doesn't seem the first QC G-JOTE has not done much or any revenue flying since entering service in June.

Expecting an October start for the freighters. More crews starting early September. The passenger market has been keeping them extremely busy. Lots of ACMI and charters (lots of football team charters). Been a very good year for Jota.
