Their are a few oil workers that use the service , however it main purpose has been to bring Norwegian premier league football fans and bargain shoppers into the North West over weekend period. Suspension until the proposed start of the 2020/21 season is no coincidence

Wideroe have done some repatriation in the last week or so from STN including to Oslo which isn’t a normal destination. So that could be the purpose of the Bergen flights, again making use of Liverpool as an airport they already use so probably already have handling in place at.

The current thinking is to resume the current season in order to finish it off as soon as it's safe to do so and probably behind closed doors. June is the current earliest estimate, but nobody really knows. Either way, next season is likely to start late.

There's no guarantee the new season will start in August and nor is it certain football matches being played in front of a crowd will be allowed by then.

I know it's early days and still alot can change, but, does anybody know if EZY is looking to reduce the Liverpool base for S21?
It's just that the initial release up to May 4th next year shows a number of reduced frequencies on several routes, notably BCN (12 to 8x pw), CDG (daily to 5x pw) and GVA (5 to 3x pw) amongst others, as well as what looks to be the ending of services to SXF/BER, NAP and PMO.
No other base in the UK seems to have these kinds of reductions, mirroring almost exactly what's in the current schedule end of May/early June this year; So all the more curious.
The schedule still looks to require 8x aircraft on certain days, but with some re-jigging it could easily be done with at least one fewer aircraft in the based fleet. Anybody aware of anything?
