Does anyone in the industry actually take the "prestigious" Skytrax awards seriously ?

From Skytrax is the following:

” A key factor behind Lufthansa gaining 5-Star Airline Certification is the recently announced new business class cabin and seat that will be delivered when the airline receives their first Boeing 777X aircraft.”

Which is not due in service for years!

Surely they can't award a 5* rating on a 'proposed' development, The idea of the ratings is to measure their CURRENT performance.

At present i would agree it's a 4 / 4+, but i believe they've jumped the gun a bit awarding this

Considering the service I had last month from Ashgabat, I would not call them a 5* rated airline. Having flown both QR and KC recently, their service is miles ahead of LH
