G-HUET was going anyway. Inter-island loads have simply not been good enough with a Do228 sometimes being used. It's a shame, but inevitable. It will be interesting to see if GCI-SOU continues as loads there have not been brilliant.

GCI-SOU is a strange one as the total passenger numbers on the route are through the roof, but as you say Aurigny's loads that I've seen haven't been brilliant, especially over the winter. Blue Islands though seem to be flying fuller than ever. It's almost like demand has been stimulated by having two carriers on the route but only one of them is actually benefitting. Maybe it's the fact that everyone appears to associate SOU with Flybe and books through them automatically? That wouldn't explain the big jump in numbers since Aurigny came onto the route though...
Good news, if they are. However, I would have thought that it would pay them better to take on the Jersey link, too. Otherwise, these two new routes might not be as productive for them as they might think.
Looks like Aurigny are taking on the Birmingham and Exeter to Guernsey routes
"BIRMINGHAM & EXETER - UPDATE
Further announcements relating to commencement of a new Blue Islands scheduled service to Birmingham and Exeter from both Guernsey and Jersey will be announced over the coming days. In the meantime, customers are assured of continued service to both of these destinations"
BI flew these routes yesterday as additional "rescue" flights initially.

Think you have your airlines mixed-up, the below is on the Blue Islands site this morning:

interesting to see how all this works out. Blue islands could benefit from the jersey link up for sure vs aurigny just having Guernsey’s market to play with.
As much as competition is excellent for tourism, locals, businesses, in a small market it kills the airlines doing it.
Well. I will say it again. There is a reason that the Exeter & Birmingham to C.I. routes have been operated for so long as a joint service (50 years in the case of Exeter); that is because of the limited potential to make profits on them if they were to one island only - particularly Guernsey. For that reason, I was surprised to see that AUR are only going to operate them from Guernsey.
Utter madness to not to opereate the EXT & BHX as triangular with JER, I cannot remember a time (apart from summer weekends) when the flights have been direct & I'm going back to when Jersey European oprated HS748/SH360/F27 equipment.
