From the BBC: "The firm has been working closely with Public Health England on safe transport arrangements and the group will be fully screened on arrival in the UK. Anyone found to have a temperature will be quarantined."

This Irish press are not very happy that Bulgarians can come in without any social distancing to do fruit picking.
"Separately, there is concern that earlier this week almost 200 fruit pickers flew from Bulgaria to Dublin on a Ryanair flight that allegedly lacked social distancing measures on board. Irish media cited a letter from purporting to be from a Ryanair employee which said the chartered flight put cabin crew at risk. Some politicians complained, saying it made no sense to import seasonal workers in the teeth of a pandemic when people in Ireland could not travel more than 2km from home."

In winter, SAS are due to fly 2x weekly to Lulea in northern Sweden - not flown before. The launch publicity came out at the beginning of March 2020 which was a bit unfortunate for timing. The only similiar routes I can think of are Ryanair's former STN-Skelleftea from 2014-2015 which had lousy yields in winter, SAS' ad hoc charter for Discover the World between Heathrow and Kiruna to take people to/from the ice hotel, and the odd Santa special day trip to places in Lapland
Anyone have thoughts on whether this route will actually go ahead ? I'm a bit dubious but interested to hear what others think

I think people need to be realistic and accept there’s quite a lot that won’t return, sadly that may even include Emirates. This isn’t STN-specific but applicable to all airports. Even LHR will not be immune, though may hold up flights overall even if not passengers as routes are moved across (BA) or consolidated.

I think we’ll see a reduction in seat numbers by downgrading a lot of services from A380 to 777 on U.K. routes, which of course won’t affect STN but will affect routes such as LGW.
