Good news on passenger numbers.
Any news on UDC emergency meeting outcome?
Will be interesting to see what happens with the council now in the hands of the local residents rather than the Conservatives.
If the s106 wasn't signed off last Thursday, I imagine it could be a little more onerous now.

The Section 106 sign off was postponed at the UDC Emergency Meeting by a vote of Councillors until after the recent local elections.
Unfortunately with resurgent Lib Dems & Independents not only in the area but in the country too it will provide more headwinds for airport development everywhere.
The growing `flygskam` movement throughout Europe will become a further headwind to battle industry wide too.
The outcome of that UDC Emergency Meeting could result in `a charge of non-determination` with a potential cost to UDC of upwards of £1m it has been said with a potential to bankrupt the Council.
SSE state they continue to press ahead with High Court proceedings to force Government Ministers to take charge of the current application.
Further update due 23.5 after further hearings.

Further clarification it now appears after the new incoming & independent Councillors have had legal briefings as now declared `too late for Council to reverse the approved airport expansion says the incoming administration`.
Perhaps the prospect of bankrupting the Council through a `charge of non-determination` played no small part.
The Councillors are settling & will revert to scrutinising the Section 106 now to ensure it is fully aligned to the application in terms of sufficient road & rail infrastructure.
SSE themselves state they continue to seek a Judicial Review arguing that it should have been a Government decision not a local Council decision originally.
But at least SSE are bank rolling themselves.

If I can give you one piece of advice, don’t start the LTN V STN fight, it’s been done time and time again.
Anyway welcome to this forum, I look forward to your next informative post.

Except it is now true having used both airports in the last month between 6 and 7am. L***n has raised its game although still not great. Expect to see those bad boys overtake Stansted when the next Which passenger survey comes out leaving Stansted in bottom place. Don't get me wrong, STN has great potential but it now seems to be using the Ryanair rule book. Stansted seems to me to be the airport of last resort although that title might well end up at Southend in the next year or two as that place is going down hill fast.
