So do I go for the Pooleys or AFE Guide to Airports, Aerodromes and Airstrips?
Which do others have or suggest?

Have you tried asking this question on the Bizjets / Ag Flying / GA thread under the aircrew forums section? You might get a better-informed spread of responses on that forum. GA regulars are more likely to be reading over there.
