Monarch
Have not flown with Monarch but have booked flights later in the year with a flight time of over five hours.
Compared to EZY, our usual airline on this trip how do they compare in terms of boarding and cabin baggage service, seat comfort and in flight service?

Seating will depend which exact plane you are on. Some have the new Recaro seats fitted whilst others don't (I believe only some A321's have it done atm). Also when we board (I fly from MAN) they normally do passengers with Children under 5 first and then allow everyone else to board. Sometimes they do it in seat rows too.
Monarch do Inflight Meals but these will stop in February, however I do recommend the Bacon Panini's
Btw we have a Monarch thread here:

Flown with them both, and in fact am flying with both later this year. They are of an equal standard IMO. Cabin baggage?..pot luck with both, just make sure you get to the gate early. Most Monarch have been refitted with the new seats which are an improvement on the older types, although others may disagree, but maybe not so good after 5 hours on either carrier.
As for service, generally very good on both, but as always its a people thing and therefore depends on the crew on that flight. Personally I always find crews on both companies to be pleasant and helpful. Easyjet wise I always fly out of Liverpool and they have some real characters out of there

Thanks for the info. I missed the existing thread whilst on my mobile device.
I also fly out of MAN and my only complaint about EZY is their poor time keeping, principally related to their inability to understand that high hold baggage charges encourage passengers to bring in large cabin bags. This creates delays as there is always lots of shuffling around of stuff for the last boarders.
