A US Airways plane made an emergency landing in Rome on Saturday after two passengers and 11 members of the crew were taken ill, Italian media reported.

Never knew that US runs their own catering in TLV. Seems that mistakenly,some passengers have been given crew meals.

Is it an urban legend that the pilot and first officer have to eat different meals in case one of them makes them incapable?

It is in the manual that we should not eat the same meals.
We usually do not, but the FAs ultimately decide.
