Perhaps they should get their own house in order first. I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in sport but from what I hear the infrastructural improvements they are supposed to have made for this event are not in place.
South Africa had the 2010 world cup and what a costly poisoned chalice that was, with FIFA, the Chinese, and the big hotel chains carrying off the profits whilst the local poor people ended up worse off.
