Rafey international airlines?
Hi,
It looks like there is going to be a new airline starting soon out of Amsterdam.
Rafey international Airlines.
There has been some media exposure about this. A mix of passenger and Cargo operations. Aircraft types mentioned are B 747-400 combi and B 777 and A 330.
Does somebody know more about this?
Thanks,
Falck

They are planning 15 airplanes. 8 B777, 2 dreamliners and 5 B 737. talks in Australia for B 747-400. But read as well that those B 747's are/will be ex- Air China units.
Somebody else with more info?

Rafey International Airlines is a newly founded subsidiary of Rafey International Investments in the Netherlands. Etc etc etc..
Aviabanen - Steward / Stewardess
Or from Facebook
"Rafey International Airlines is governed by the Board of Directors under the leadership of Mr. Azhar Ahmad and shall be led by the Chief Executive Officer Mr. Reginald L.H. Eysbroek. Our main business is the air transportation for passengers and cargo."
hehehe

Now I find this extraordinary. The links suggest either they are full already with pilots, instructors, engineers management etc. as they are advertising only for cabin crew. Surely they don't advertise for that job first? So what is really going on?
I've had a look at their website and it's empty; in that every link that invites to "read more" then declares "it's coming soon." There is no info which tells you what they are going to do, how, when & where. It seems, now, to be a virtual airline. Let's wait & see. Where did the info about a/c type come from?

Apparently they are serious as I experienced during my job interview.
Starting with B747-400 combi's to North America until they get their ETOPS 180 and then change to B777 on those routes.
They are aiming to compete with airlines such as Emirates and Etihad. Not a low cost carrier but the opposite, high end service for an average price.
WIFI and cell phone reception on the B737-800 and somewhere next year: A380 service dedicated to fly to Australia via Bangkok.
To good to be true?
Maybe, I'm sceptical but since they hired me I'll wait and see...!!

VIRTUAL AIRLINE ALERT !!!
And, how odd that Explane, who has been "hired" is a first time poster More like the person who has invented this virtual airline. What gives it away for me is the mixed start up fleet. All utter tosh is my bet

I'm as sceptical as you guys are, that's why I googled the airline and was directed to this forum.
I'll keep you up to date if you want, I'm due to be called next week to see what happens next.

The Dutch governement has other worries than minding KLM's business.
Remember that there was once up on a time a rich British business man that dared to start an airline in the backyard of BA.
I believe they are now a major player in the airline industry.

Sir Freddie Laker is remembered for his famous advice to fellow airline entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson, of Virgin Atlantic, to "sue the bastards", a reference to the bullying tactics of British Airways in trying to force upstarts out of business.

RIA
From what I have heard its a Pakistani Billionaire that stands behind the project. Lots of money. True! But Slots, Destinations, hiring of crews all unknown and vague.
Anybody with more details? Perhaps in contact with them?
Interesting though...

No news just speculating.
Amedeo lease company bought 20 A 380's at the Singapore airshow. First one to go to the customers (who ever they are)in 2016.
Not that far away in time.
Anybody else?
Tnx
