When you say "heard a rumour" is that because you saw it on their website?
If you look at avalibility on that route, on the ba website, it comes up as Citiexpress operating the route.
Not really a rumour then!

No I didn't get it off their web site. I was just making a casual enquiery after hearing some cabin crew discussing it.
And as it means that I will probably be looking for work sooner than expected your smug comment is a bit hard to take.

Made a reservation for a client the otherday on the route and yes, the system did prompt that the service is operated by 'BA Citiexpress'.
I was legally obliged to advise the passenger of this fact, although I did not, and still do not, consider the route as being a BACE route.
Any official answer to the question?
Cheers

Well officially I don't think there is any BAR now, its all been subsumed into BACE. That said, its a BA aircraft, BA mainline flight crew and BAR cabin crew so to call it a BACE route is just legal ass-covering methinks.

The MAN/JFK/MAN route relies solely on B767 G-BNWH and so when it falls down the pax are either moved across LHR/JFK or more recently a LHR/JFK 744 dropped in and picked up the stranded pax, this is probably why on several occasions it hasn't operated.
