Emirates UK-USA
Hi,
I just wanted to ask you all, with the potential new transatlantic flights by Emirates from the UK to the USA, what would you expect to see? As you will all be aware, if EK thinks something will work, it probably will work except in rare circumstances. I think we may see routes along the lines of:
DXB-MAN-LAX/SFO
DXB-MAN-DFW/IAH
DXB-GLA-IAD/ORD
DXB-BHX-IAD/ORD
DXB-NCL-JFK
If they so wished to break into the high end tourist market to the Caribbean and South America etc, something like MAN-MIA with onward connections may work. MAN-LAX/SFO could also work for California/Hawaii.
Thanks,
Martin

Spotters imagination working overtime. It's true EK 'eyes' this sort of operation in the same way it 'eyes' going across the Pacific. Nothing will happen yet until the politics are sorted. The nearest they have got is DXB - MXP - JFK.

Look at the date of that article. It's been discussed to death else where. On a spotters forum......

An Emirates spokesperson later got in touch to make the following statement regarding this article: “We have no immediate plans to operate a direct service between the UK and US.”

If ncl is to ever get a link to the US then this could work since dxb-MXP-JFK seems to be working nicely.
I think this will happen with EK but not sure if ncl will be there first choice more likely to be man or gla first

Emirates is a global airline with global ambitions. I very much doubt it is interested in linking two depressed economies to each other. I'd expect to see expansion to India, China, eastern Europe, and maybe Africa. The UK market, while important to Emirates, is not the only one it serves.
