Britannia B767-300 at NCL???

Just walking down from my local maccy d's as you do , and looking south i saw a Britannia B767-300 on finals 25 coming in to Land at Newcastle

Can anyone confirm that Britannia will be using a B767-300 for the summer season this year, and also, and airnorth members out there? i want to sign up for an airnorth membership but i dont know how!
anyone know what the newcastle timetable is this year also? i know its on the airnorth page but i'm having trouble signing up!

Thanks for any help in advance....

I think BY have a 757 and a 767-200 based at Newcastle this year. I too am considering signing up to airnorth, but due to lack of funds.... Not at the moment

Air North

Well I'd be surprised if the webmeister himself isn't lingering in these parts somewhere....but:

http://www.airnorth.demon.co.uk/section2b.htm should have all the info you need. Joining instructions on the right hand side.

You must be a member to access the 'secret' members pages!

Another question is...what has happened to the Air North display case from outside the old viewing area? Does anyone at NCL know???

A news flash for those considering signing up for an Air North membership. Tonight, the website has just had a notice put up to say that the Daily Reports and 'Mmebers Only News' section will be discontinued for the forseeable future and that they MAY never return!
Thought some of you might want to know this in case you were expecting to get the latest rumours etc. The timetable is still there for members only though.

Further to my last message, I have just been back to the site now and the message that was there earlier - as explained in my previous message - has now gone!!
I'm not quite sure what's going on here ?

Apologies for returning to topic here, but Stud3's astute observation was indeed correct (G-OBYI - if you're into that sort of thing). It is a fortnightly service to Sanford.

Hope this helps.

The Sanford flight departs on a Thursday @ 09:35, not a Wednesday.
Actually, G-OBYI operated the Palma flight yesterday, returning to NCL at 23:45 last night. He was heard talking to Servisair and so there was no doubt about his reg. 10 minutes earlier, a 767-200 landed having operated the Arrecife flight.

Indeed true, heinz, and then it operated today's SFB. I was really trying to answer Stud3's original query at the top of this thread. -300s may of course operate the odd NCL shorthaul from time to time.

I was at the airport on saturday and realised that there is infact a BY 767-200 based there, aswell as the B767-300 which operates the SFB flight.
I'm just looking if there are any sites out there that can tell me what sort of aircraft and routes and airlines that are flying out of NCL as i noticed on saturday it was extremely busy after lunchtime.
A flight timetable like airnorth usually publishes would be extremely useful, but its only available in the members area!
I'll be signin up shortly as i couldnt find the airnorth 'booklets' on sale at WH smiths, which i was annoyed about as i used to buy it regularly!

Anyways, thanks in advance to those that can help.

Wink NCL Based Aircraft

Britannia have for the Summer 2002 season one based 767-200, one based 757 and the 767-300 as stated above does the Orlando flying, however is NOT a based machine.

The 767-200 is flying some of the higher density routes such as CFU, HER the spanish routes and canaries, with the 757 operating the remainder. As always, however, operational requirements may dictate otherwise. The dual base has been 2 757 aircraft for the last few years, however the 767 has been based in the past. Of course, as always the base drops to one aircraft in the winter.

Hopefully this will be a feature we can expect to see in the future
(having the 767-200) not least for the flightdeck who rarely get to fly the 767 when based at NCL, if at all.

Cheers,

starship.

Just back from a little trip away to hear from colleagues that Air NORTH had been mentioned here - I don't normally 'linger in these parts'.

The notice that 'Heinzmann' refers to was an upload error - the daily info on the web-site is continuing, although this has been obviously delayed due to my recent absence from Newcastle.

The Air NORTH magazine is still going into the shop at the airport - of course if you want a guaranteed copy each month then joining up is the answer.

I know where the old display case is - unfortunately a suitable location after the old airport roof was closed, has not presented itself as of yet.

If anybody requires more info about Air NORTH, please drop me an e-mail.

To return to the subject - how does the current BY presence at NCL this year compare with previous years?

For the last few summers, BY have had 2 757s based at NCL. Before that was a 757 and 762, and the year before that I think it was only 1 757. Winter is always 1 757 based.
Hope that helps somehow?
Correct me if Im wrong

By that argument all aviation groups shouldn't be charging for their monthly magazines either.

If Caslance would like to e-mail me direct I would be able to explain further.

A quick note to Heinz...
if you heard the BAL 767 calling Servisair your radio must be on the blink... Groundstar handle Britannia in NCL!
Groundstar ops NCL: 122.05mhz

...and BAL's NCL prog for S02 consists of a based 757 and 762 flying the short haul stuff with a 763 coming in once a week to do the SFB....all flts inc the 767's are going full.

'Call it sched!'...OK, Servisair/Groundstar etc etc. My point was that he was talking to ops at NCL - the company has no bearing on the message that I heard!
