Ramadan 2012
Hi all, im travelling to Asia next month on thr following flights:
QR MAN - DOH - KUL (16JUL)
&
QR HKT - DOH - MAN (1AUG)
Now i am aware of Ramadan being in the summer ? I am just wondering what are the exact dates? What are the flights going to be like - loadwise, will people be fasting on the QR flights ? What will DOH be like - packed or empty?
If there is any other information that may be relevant please add!
Many thanks for helping!

As far as fasting is concerned...
The purposes, discipline, and activities of Ramadan:
"The fast is performed to learn discipline, self-restraint and generosity, while obeying God's commandments. Fasting (along with the declaration of faith, daily prayers, charity, and pilgrimage to Mecca) is one of the 'five pillars' of Islam."
2 Muslims who fall within one of the following categories may elect to not observe the fast:
Children under the age of puberty.
People who are mentally incapacitated or not responsible for their actions.
The elderly.
The sick.
Travelers who are on journeys of more than about fifty miles.
Pregnant women and nursing mothers.
Women who are menstruating.

As Aer Lingus says Ramadan is due to start around 20 July - however I flew with QTR last year during Ramadan and food and drink was still being served. Alcohol was available but on request ie it wasn't on the carts.
