Air Transat Cabin Refresh

For those that dont already know..

Canadian carrier Air Transat has begun a $4 million per aircraft investment programme that the airline hopes will bring it in line with the competition flying between the UK and Canada.
The revamped A330 aircraft will seat 333 in economy and 12 in Club class, with economy configured 3-3-3 and Club located at the front in a 2-2-2 configuration. Club class seats are wider and the screens larger but the seat is not lie-flat. The seat pitch in economy remains 32 inches but the carrier claims the new design offers an extra one inch of legroom.

The touchscreen IFE is provided by RAVE and features a headphone jack and USB slot built in to the screen for charging devices. Screens are nine inches in economy and 12 inches in Club class, and the system offers 140 channels on demand. Entertainment is available in 13 languages and passengers can create their own playlists from the pre-loaded music selection.
The seats are designed by German firm ZIM, staffed by several former Recaro employees and which also designs seats for Thai Airways, Japan Airlines and Air Berlin. The seats are blue leather in economy and grey leather in Club.
The aircraft will also feature new mood lighting in the cabins which can be gently altered to relax passengers and ease the transition from night to day experienced on overnight flights.
The galley in the middle of the aircraft has been removed to make the cabin feel more spacious and open, and the bathrooms have been refurbished and feature LED mood lighting and full length mirrors. The new cabin design will reduce the weight of the A330s by two tonnes.
Air Transat hopes that the new cabin will be available on all aircraft by the end of 2013, starting with the A330s and then the carrier’s remaining A310s, some of which are being retired to bring the number down from 11 to six.
Predominantly a leisure carrier, Air Transat flies from eight cities in the UK and Ireland, including London Gatwick, Manchester and Glasgow, to seven Canadian destinations in conjunction with tour operator Canadian Affair.

If the club class seat pitch is equal to BA PE I would probably use it, if not then I will stick to BA thanks. Interesting to find out what it will be?
