I would try road, as it's only about 90 minutes - the motorway is usually OK as long as it's not early evening.

If you are not hiring a car, try the bus routes, they will be pretty cheap.

The train will be into London and out again; takes too long and costs too much.

Thumbs down

There is a coach, which leaves at 5 past every hour. The bad news is that it takes nearly 3 hours, and costs £20 single!!

Trains a little better, taking under 2 hours, and costing about £18 single at peak times. Check for times on http://www.thetrainline.com and try and get one that links with a Thameslink at Farringdon.

Get the train..... I need the overtime..!!!

Seriously though, if you get the bus/coach to LUTON then you can get a train direct from there.......will take about an hour..... .http://www.thameslink.co.uk

Or you could fly with Ryanair to Newquay from Stansted for £29 and then fly back to Gatwick with BA for £169!!!

Is there a lesson there

Seriously though, train is probably the quickest bus is the most straightforward!
