Post Paris Slots

Whatever happened to the granting of slots that became available at Paris-Orly?

Whats "the word on the street" re. how certain are EZY of getting what they want, the amount and the destinations to be served. If unable to go public email me.

An insider friend of mine says that they have applied for (I think he said) up to 8 Aircraft worth of slots there. I think mixed between 4 based, and 4 running in from other stations. No new routes, only more point to point on what they already operate.

They had been expecting a decision a few months ago, but the private takeover of AOM / Liberte after their collapse put a spanner in the works and slowed things down apparently. He did say that they were not sure which way it would go.

The only question now is if they still have the Aircraft available after the LGW expansion announcement last week?

I think they are due to get 9 new 700 series in 2002 but they are to get rid of 3 older 300 series in the new year.

So if they do get slots at Paris-Orly, as well as growing the routes out of Gatwick, maybe they are in for a aircarft shortage!

I'd heard (very recently) 10 737NG's in 2002, and they are keeping the 3 733's, not returning them.

One of the three 733s that was earmarked to go over the next 12 months has already gone. Swiss reg'd example HB-IIL returned to lessor and one UK regd example transferred back to Swiss ops to cover it.

As I understand it:

up until 22nd October-
HB-III (was EZYN)
HB-IIJ (was EZYS)
HB-IIL (leased from Virgin Express)

from 23rd October-
HB-III (was EZYN)
HB-IIJ (was EZYS)
HB-IIK (was EZYM, replaced HB-IIL)
