Post New Runway Lighting at Gatwick

On December 3 we switched on our Rapid Exit Taxiway Lighting System (RETILS), on trial pending official approval by CAA.It consists of a 3-2-1 countdown pattern of lights and white paint markings starting 300m before selected runway exits. These are intended to assist pilots to vacate the runway safely at the optimum speed and thus improve the consistency of runway occupancy times. Feedback from flight crews would be very much appreciated, either here or by e-mail. [email protected]
