fire@stansted

reports of an engine fire while plane on stand,all pax evacuated airport & local fire crews attend,all this happend 10 15am this morning,anymore info on this story?

Fire WARNING (!) on apron after pushback/engine start. No external signs of fire/smoke. A/C towed BACK onto stand & pax DISEMBARKED..........
Seems to have been coolly & professionally handled

Now ain't THAT the TRUTH.....................

Was the aircraft type an ATR by any chance?

Ranger 1, unless an ATR can fit 190 pax, I doubt it

Which was a bit of an issue as they only have the one!!!

B733 & a 146 took the passengers later in the day
commit aviation is offline
