All schedules now published. But why the extra ACI flights today?

There seemed to be a lot of sports events on today, Aurigny used an ATR 72 inter-island this morning and both Blue Islands ATR 42's were being used.

indeed, was the only pax on G-DRFC GCI-JER at 18:30 (ish).. apparently full on the return to GCI, sports teams.

Was originally booked on the J32 at 18:05 but when checking in online spotted an additional ATR not scheduled earlier in the week.. meant an extra pint in the GCI pub prior, ideal on my day trip!

Strong rumour in the Islands that Blue are to quit inter island flights and only operate flights that route through GCI or JER to other destinations.

Why would they do that when their market share is quite so comfortable?

The market share might be good, but it's the yield that counts as we all know.

Yes so what you're saying there is that inter-island does continue for Blue, but only as part of a triangular arrangement. This could be in response to the knowledge that GCI cant keep BE out of full ops on inter-island forever, and that as mentioned already, yealds are higher on other sectors like (speculation here) SOU.

Interisland is a funny one, pax almost expect a flight every 30 mins like buses, and this flexibility rather than infrequent capacity (ATR) is the order of the day...
