Indonesia’s Lion Air to Buy 230 New Boeing 737s in $21.7b Deal
Smoke and mirrors. How can you sign a deal to buy something that has not been fully defined yet and no performance to guarantee is available yet???
I very recently attended a sales presentation by Boeing on behalf of my operator and it is all very vague and "under study".

When a deal is real it's announced by the manufacturer, not the White House or the local massage parlor.
Anyway, don't believe anything Lion Air says. Airbus is smart enough to keep away.

Lion to buy 234 Airbus A320s
First of all I apologise if there is a thread on this already. I could not see one.
Second, I am not any form of expert in the field of aviation procurement, but am I missing something here:
BBC News - Airbus wins record order for 234 planes from Indonesia's Lion
Now, no disrespect to Lion Air but to me this is the equivalent of my local taxi cab firm, with his fleet of 20 clapped out Ford Escorts, buying 200 Rolls Royce’s and becoming the poshest Taxi Firm in South Wales
As I said, Am I missing something here or would I just not make a good aircraft salesperson

The order trumps last year's record order for 230 Boeing planes - also from Lion Air.
Lion currently has just 92 Boeing planes, which fly mainly within Indonesia but also to Saudi Arabia.
.................although Lion Air is banned from flying within both the 27-nation European Union and the US. because of fears that its safety standards are not up to scratch.
