I was somewhat bemused that they kept the seatbelt signs illuminated for over 30 mins after takeoff,
How do you know if the crew had detected turbulence or not.
Have you never been on a flight where the seat belt was not switched off at all because of the weather?
I have a few times and I am sure many others have.

@mky661. thought they had 3 aircraft based in europe? i could be wrong but i thought i saw a second one parked at man last week at least for a few days, i know back in the summer they were doing extra work for jet2 ,and other summer charters etc,but if that works dried up man seem's an odd place to park them up for the forseeable.

One A320 will indeed be on lease to Jet2 this summer. It will be Manchester based and allows one of their 757's to be a standby aircraft following the problems last year.
Regarding Birmingham, although the Olympic website currently shows times which suggest a based aircraft from Strategic, I believe the flights are to be operated on W patters from Manchester. This is of course to be confirmed yet.

Red Ed - isn't there an SOP then? We have unless environmental conditions dictate otherwise.

Strategic Airlines
Now that the parent company has been rebranded (Air Australia?) will the name change for the European Operations?
I understood that there could be 3 or 4 aircraft operating in Europe this summer

Yes. If they Sign the northcaps (Norway to Afghan) contract then there will be 4 aircraft in the UK. 2.5 in Manchester and 1.5 in Gatwick.
Jet2 will have aircraft from 6am to 3pm then it's available to Strategic.
There is also lots of torair work as well that Meridian have been asking Strategic to do as well, but I believe they are not relying on it.
LX-STA, B and C will shortly be re-fitted with new seats. They have been parked in Man as this is where the perm crews are based, so looking good for the olympic summer.

Because they have a good reputation for reliability and have plenty of good newish one owner planes. Unlike Strategic or Torair or that Greek one.
Only complaint with Thomson is the small amount of leg room, esp on the green seated 757s.
