WARSAW
I have heard that the runway at Warsaw shall be closed over a couple of weekends in September due to maintenance/resurfacing. If so what is the nearest alternate - Lodz?

Semms odd that the runway will be subject to such a closure but i guess the work cannot just be carried overnight.

This was closed again last September because of this how do other airports in Europe keep runways open while carring out mantence??

Wizzair web site now informing of the runway(s) closure and that Lodz is being used as alternate during specific periods.

two runways
Yes it has two runways and they intersect. At some point the crossover has to be worked on resulting in a total closure
