The future of economy class?

Lie back for the long haul - Travel - NZ Herald News

All eyes will be on Auckland come Tuesday as I am sure not only passengers, enthusiasts but mainly the airlines look on to see what NZ has come up with.

If it lives up to what the press release seems to say, someone is going to make A LOT of money when EK, SQ, VS, BA and all the other premium long haul carriers who come calling!

I am very interested I must say...

I think if NZ can pull this one off they will be very successful. I for one would use it, no matter how cramped it might be!

All eyes on Auckland I suppose.............

I'm intrigued but not holding my breath. That's not to say Air New Zealand are not innovative. As said above "all eyes to Auckland".

I am officially intrigued & if it does what it says on the tin Air New Zealand should be fighting the long haul economy passengers off with the proverbial 'itty stick......

Now, when does it go transatlantic?

So it's two people sleeping across a slightly modified set of three seats - not a particularly fantastic innovation!

Not quite as innovative as could have been hoped, but it is a small step in the right direction.

Let's all be thankful for any small gestures of humanity towards us cattle in the cheap seats.
