SAS shares trading suspended?

At the stock exchange they stopped the trade with SAS shares around noon .
They where up 11% in just a few hours, speculation in the Scandinavian media was that LH was going to buy it.

smith

i can confirm it:

The rumour is SAS shares are suspended....

Heard on the grapevine than LH might want to buy them (for what one asks) but this is an unconfirmed rumour as opposed to the confirmed rumour about the SAS shares being suspended.

However, it s a secret, so i'd appreciate it if you kept it hush hush

Which would mean of course, LH would own 50% minus one share of bmi

The shares are released for trade again and went up another 3% i believe. Swedish TV media have said nothing about it (or I must have missed it...). There was a notice on text TV that SAS confirms discussions about a future decision. Nothing involving LH whatsoever though. So that is an unconfirmed rumour. Another rumour is that Aeroflot is interested. Yay.

Lufthansa seems to be on buying spree (Swiss, jetBlue, Brussels, Austrian, SAS, BMI maybe). Haven;t seen anything like this since Swissair bought all those airlines in the nineties.

Todays, Saturday, Financial Times has an article on the status of LH buying into SAS, Swiss Air style. Lets see if any banks left around next week for them to get finances from

Online at

FT.com / Companies / Transport - Lufthansa in takeover talks with SAS

P.S. I only buy the paper as it matches the tiles in my toilet

LH to buy SAS will be SAS only way of survival.

SAS is out of cash, options and a sound management. LH can but a very strong PR company in the name of SAS and will become really big in Scandinavia.

Its all about the money; cash is king
