Does anyone know when/where this stupid idea to name airports after individuals started? Was it JFK or CDG?

The f*******g politics of Pakistan. What a waste of Money!

When the PPP loses power in a few years, it should be renamed Islamabad International Airport.

Seat62K, what a good question!

Whch is the oldest airfield named after a person? - La Guardia, O'Hare... certainly way before JFK or CDG - and the French still call CDG "Roissy"!

May be better on the A & N thread....
