Direct air service South Africa/South America

Planning a round -the-world trip in the southern hemisphere. I cannot find any airline that flies from either Cape Town to Buenos Aries/Rio de Janeiro. The only connection I can find is via Houston.

Any information to avoid the United States appreciated.

Malaysian airlines fly Kuala Lumpar to joburg and then onto Buenos Aires.
Flew it last year on the JNB-BA leg

My flight also stopped in Cape Town between JNB and BA to pick up more pax.
(only complaint was just the food, as it was distributed according to the poor jetlagged souls that had completed already the KL-JNB portion, so spicy dinner at breakfasts time in JNB was not for me... other than that good flight).

click on http://www.malaysiaairlines.com/main_HQ.aspx?lang=en-US and then the e-timetable

I don't want to rain on your parade Tropical, but isn't that a bit of a contradiction in terms, unless you cross the Equator at some point of course ....?
