Qatar Airways CEO interview
From this weeks Flight International.
Akbar Al Baker - chief executive of Qatar Airways proudly points out that it was an all-Qatari flight crew that recently undertook the ceremonial delivery flight of the first of 35 777s from Seattle to Doha: "I'm sure they did a better landing than the pilots that were accompanying them from Boeing!"
Now I guess this was supposed to be a joke but some may say that the statement not only shows ignorance but could also be racist. Not only was this Qatar’s first 777 but their first Boeing. So just how did this ‘all-Qatari flight crew’ become such boffins on the 777 that they are better then Boeing pilots?
