Your financial assumptions are both in Dollars and GB Pounds. $360 would be good value to some.
If you go back through the Luton thread, I have also questioned if it was a school project, but it has created quite some debate. look back 4-6 weeks on that thread.
I for one would certainly pay more for a bit of comfort. Flying, from check in to exiting the arriving airport terminal was once mostly a pleasurable experience. Sadly now it replicates a train journey with a 'scrum' at the beginning and the end. Sadly terrorism has not been kind to those of us that fly.
Would I pay more for an easier experience.....yes! I am not wanting a glass of champaign, nor do I think that I am somebody that I am clearly not. I do want a gentle journey and I would pay more for it too!

CamAirAirline
tried to get this project into the air a few years ago, based on 717 aircraft, serving the disconcerning British villa, boat, or leisure traveller who appreciated being treated like a human being, not a caged animal.
Costs were acceptable, service was excellent, and projected revenue was good.
However 9/11 eliminated the money men.
I hope that the conditions are now favourable to allow this venture to fly.

Hi Buster.
The only reason I quoted the lease rate in dollars is because that tends to be the currency that a lease rate gets quoted in.
£360 still stands as the average fare regardless of the mixed currencies.

TartinTon, well done for bringing in some real-world economics.
You're probably a bit on the high side with the assumed lease rentals, though. An MD-83 should be well under $200k/month these days; I'd say about $150k.

But if Premjet are to be a premium class outfit, the aircraft will need a complete internal re-fit before going on lease, so presumably that would bump up the lease costs? After all, how much life would an MD83 have left?

MD83 lease rates have shifted a lot in the last few months, then! If you have up-to-date info, fair enough - I'll stand corrected, as I haven't been looking at rates in detail for a few months.
But as of the start of this year (i.e. at a time when A319s and B737-800s were rare as hen's teeth, and a 737-800 was going for upwards of $400k/month), the fuel price and general availability meant that MD83 leases were under $100k/month. Have they really doubled since then?
Actually I agree with you that "anything decent is very rare and very expensive" at the moment - it's just that the asset-based finance market hasn't really been putting MD83s in the "decent" category...

Does anyone knows if this is the Airline that will fly out of MAN and LGW next Summer with MD's, using the ICAO 3 Letter Code KHK and C/S=KingShaws
There are already some slots required AFAIK with this Code and A/C Type, to sunny Mediter. Dests., but not sure by now wich Airline it is...
Cheers

A recent look at their website shows that destinations will be Tenerife, Faro, Malaga and Palma. Paphos seems to have been dropped.
If the website is being kept up to date, presumably the project is still on course?

The website is looking in better shape.
They say that they want to launch service in S08! SZG is on the cards for W08/09!
Looking good! Could we in the future see Silverjet and Premjet working together to provide the Europeans and Americans with some British service?
Lets wait to see what happens...

Hahahaha! There is no way on Earth that this is a real airline!!
I bet the kid who's project this is, is laughing his ass off at all the ridiculous comments on this thread. Just a note for your project Mr/Miss Premjet, you will want to re-size the pictures so that they don't obscure the writing on your webpages and use a spellcheck (convinience!)
A bar area at the rear of the aircraft sounds good though! (I think some of the posters on here have already visited)

Paxing All Over The World
I have looked at the web site for the first time today and, if anyone wants to see if this is real, the first port of call is to verify with the London Stock Exchange whether this is valid listed company:
Premjet PLC
Airport House
Purley Way
Croydon
Surrey
CR0 0XZ
If they are hoping to be a real airline, I repeat my view of some months ago - with the country threatened with recession, with house prices having dropped for the second month in a row (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7162488.stm) then I don't think they have a snowball's chance of getting this off the ground.
The timing is all wrong. If they wait three years and then start planning again, they might be in with a chance. One other benefit will be that, the EOS/Max/Silver/Privat Air/Legacy carrier niche biz market will have had more falling out and established the possibility of this kind of carrier. Or not!

PLC
A company can be a PLC without being listed on any stock exchange - I know as I was Company Secretary of a PLC and we certainly were not listed.
All a PLC does is to add additional reporting requirements and higher issued and paid up capital.
