Question Whats happening to Air Atlanta?

Does anybody out there understand whats goin on at Air Atlanta? Did they sell all their airplanes or were they taken away from them? I have been thinking about getting a 747 classic rating and joining for a while to build hours on the type but it seems its all in shambles now. I just heard their technical director walked out with their commercial director. Are they going up in thin air?

Not heard anything, but the RAF will be in trouble if they have folded, pretty sure they still charter a 747-300 to do the falklands trip every 4 or 5 days....

The 2 people walking out. I'd say word "Given the option to walk" rather than be given the sack would be more appropriate analysis of the situation. Then again thats just my personal view.

The MOD contracts for the RAF flights was awarded to Omni Air International from the US back in October. Flights are now operated to the Falkland Islands on a DC10 of Omni with American crews.

Balpa issues a press release to object to it back in october, see here

ROFL...Balpa can object all they want, it will do absolutely no good whatsoever.

Regarding AAI, their best years are behind them.
Period.

Talking Good Times / Bad Times.

411A.
We all know that all airlines including Air Atlanta have its ups and downs including after changes of ownership.

Even before and after you were fired 411A from AAI for a very good reason after working for a long period illegaly in the UK on a Icelandic Validation. I have seen your comment on the North American Forum that Europeans should absolutely not be allowed under any circumstances be allowed to fly in the US.

I also saw your comments along with Earl who is also a AAI castout on the runway overrun in SHJ.
(By the way the final report is out. You still have an opportunity to amend your comments).

You dont seem to understand that there are more american pilots trying to get a job away from USA since their own companies stole their pension with the help of their president.

I must tell you that I have enjoyed flying with lots of good american pilots. However I have never seen so many young pilots as american ones who have so many flying hours that they must have started flying big jets while in kindergarden. All those applications. Woow. Now your wonderful goverment is trying to stop Boeing serving airlines who fly US made Jets into Cuba. Even if the airlines own those airplanes not the US goverment.
I guess that lots of Boeing employees will have to start looking for a job in europe, perhaps with Airbus.

I think the unions in europe should start thinking about the way we get treated by the US goverment and their own unions who are absolutely powerless when it comes to dealing with their companies. We should stop the U.S. carriers who do not work according to JAR to operate for european goverment and companies.

I dont like everything AAI does. I belive in unions and that unions should be strong. I know for a fact 411A that you have never flown for any unions. I know that you were flying in europe ilegally. Taking the job away from a european.

It would be a pleasant change if you for a change would start writing on things you have some idea what they are about.

Im awaiting your sarcastic comments. By the way I am totally numm when it comes to them.

I guess there want be any reason to worry about any validations in EUROPE with EASA next year.

You can't argue with this guye 411A. His skin is thicker than that of a Rhino. He will pull an Ostriche-manouver, that is put his head into sand and say nothing or he will go on a tirade claiming that he was a victim. If I was retired I'd have more to do than just keep digging the past and living in it.
