OAG gong for the world's 'favourite'
From PA:

British Airways shrugged off its recent difficulties to be named airline of the year for the first time in almost 20 years.
The company was also voted top airline in three other categories - best transatlantic airline, best Europe to Asia and Australasia carrier, and best airline based in Western Europe in the Airline of the Year Awards organised by travel information company OAG.

These accolades though great as they may be do not count for so much today especially when the Atlantic offers little competition. Never the less another couple of gongs.

Competition?
Di you jnoe that BA has 16 compeditors to NYC? There are also many carriers offering one-stop connections to all of BA's destinations.
I would not say BA does not have any compeditors. VS, UA are direct ones at LHR, but there are many, many others, KL/NW, CO, DL, AF, LH.
Brian.
