New Intl Airport in Maledives
GAN Airport at the very south of the Maledives Islands is to receive its first international flights.
Condor (DE) will operate 1/7 flights from FRA with fuel stop in SHJ, using 753 aircraft during the winter season 07/08. Flights are loaded in reervation systems but cannot be booked yet.
Gan is a former RAF base with a 2650m rwy. MLE is way north of Gan and for those holiday travellers having a hotel in the southern part of the archipel, boat transfer from MLE can be very long and "Swim Otter" flights expensive.

Álso GOI (Goa Dabolim, India) will be operated 07/08 with 753, stopping at SHJ instead of the formerly used 763. This could (speculation!) be caused by some 763 going into cabin refit during the winter season.
However, both no routes I'd love to fly in coach of a 753...
