The future anyone?

Hello,

My brother is currently taking his MBA and has to write a paper on the whole airbus vs. boeing situation. Here's the question he posed to me.

I am currently performing a strategic analysis of
Boeing and was hoping that I could have your opinion on where you feel the
industry is heading.

Boeing foresees an increased reliance on direct flights to secondary cities
to alleviate the burden on overcrowded hubs and has designed the 787 around
this strategic direction whereas Airbus’ A380’s is to be used for flights
between major hubs.

At present there is a great deal of uncertainty as to the future of global
air travel but which strategy/aircraft do you feel will be successful?

Your comments and suggestions are most appreciated.

i realize that this has probably been beaten to death. However if someone could point me to where the corpse is, or give me their insight. I'm currently flying turboprops and don't really have all that much insight into the topic.

Thanks guys/gals

Try using the search terms 'Airbus' and/or 'Boeing' in the search function PPRuNe provides on the toolbar.
