Thumbs up Futura Gael

Futura Gael will recieve their Irish AOC in time for the Summer 2007 season, which will allow them operate from Dublin to non EU countries such as Egypt etc. The will have a number of 737s operating on the AOC.

Their ICAO code will be FGL. Futura Gael is 100% owned subsidiary of Futura.

Wonder is this move by Futura a response to XL starting up a news Irish Operation.
Didnt XL use Air Malta last season? Who also are authorised to fly UK - Eqypt, from BRS at present. I believe Air Malta aren't returning to Ireland this year for them.

Air Malta are not allowed to operate the Bristol to Egypt flights under their own KM code, currently they operate under the JN code and the flights are sold as ‘Excel Scheduled’.

Futura was started by Aer Lingus back in the late 80's And they still have a 20% share with them now.

Would think there is enough business to go around for them. I recall the EI A321s pitching up at some strange times and locations, like full of happy Dubliners on tour to places like MIR.

Monarch also were doing a few DUB ops in recent years.

And Nasa is spending all that money on a replacement for the Shuttle...

Seriously though this has been planned for over two years now. Don´t be surprised to see Flyant (cargo division of Futura) show up in DUB soon enough... might see them on the west coast beforehand if the fish is available for export

You sure about that? I thought WW sold them off, along with the pictures in the HOB.

Hmmm I thought I posted it on here but I flew on the first Futura Gael flight on Monday. I was 737-400 EI-DOR and we flew DUB-SNN-DUB without landing.

We were given some sandwiches and drinks etc.

The aircraft is in normal FUA colours but has Gael in light writing on the side.

The IAA were in attendance just watching everything.

In 2007 the company's shareholder structure is made up of Corpfin Capital (66.85%), one of the most important Spanish private equity companies; Aer Lingus (20%); and GPA (13.15%), Futura's managers and employees.
