RAK Airways
United Arab Emirates start-up carrier RAK Airways’ chief executive, Jack Romero, has suddenly left the carrier after opting not to stay on beyond his one-year contract period.
The airline is nearing the beginning of services from the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, having just secured its air operator’s certificate from the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority.
Romero has been succeeded by Khater Massaad, the head of RAK Ceramics who has links with the Ras Al Khaimah ruling family and the RAK Investment Authority.

Please update your source of info. How can you start up an airline & employ your CEO on a 1 year contract??
If you have been following Jack's press releases including a recent radio interview, then you'll know that Jack is as surprised as I am. Unless the first mail was written by Jack to cushion the fall....

Hello,
I am not sure. But I am certain that I have read it during the previous week. Let me see if it is possible to trace out the newspaper or the news source.
I get the following newspapers:-
Weekdays
The Times of India and The Economic Times
On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, I pick up two more:-
The Hindu
The Indian Express.
There is another blog spot that keeps you current on Indian aviation news:
http://avindia.********.com/
The quoted news may even be there!
Cheers

GOOD, finally the board have seen sense.
Alot of good, experienced airline people fell foul by moving their families out to the UAE to be treated with unproffesionalism then have their contracts terminated by this person.
Nor did he honour the contractual terms.
Water finds its own level Jack - high profile positions require high skills and moral character.
I wish him luck but would never work with him again, especially how he treated me and my family following my exit from the company.
