Just read about it. If I could do a link I would. Perhaps somebody else could.

I thought it wasn't possible for foreign companies to own US airlines, so how can they do that ?

According to CNBC

U.K. airline British Airways and U.S. investment bank Goldman Sachs Goldman Sachs Group Inc (GS) have no current plans to bid for AMR, parent of American Airlines, sources familiar with the matter said on Friday.

One tiny problem

No foreign airline can own more than 25% of the controlling shares of any US airline.
