It has been well documented that Ryanair have been thinking of pulling out of NQY for sometime over this airport tax and that CCC and councillor Whalley have been known to give airlines rediculous incentives as with Ryanair. Could it be that with the local elections due and the thought of Ryanair actually carrying out their threat that they plain and simply gave BA an offer they quite simply couldnt refuse and even if it went belly up there was not much for BA to lose.I personally dont trust BA after there record down here but it would be interesting to see what anyone else thinks.

What I don't get is why are BA charging so much for a ticket? All of their other domestic routes are priced at under £70 return, this one is over twice that and they face even more competition on it!

If the citizens of Devon and Cornwall would like to kno whow BA work in the regions, then the citizens of the Isle of Man will be glad to tell them.
  1. Buy up the local airline.
  2. Some time later - sell the airline.
  3. Some time later - buy the airline.
  4. Extract the valuable LHR slots and shuffle it off to LGW.
  5. Stop the service from LTN that had run for (about) 15 years.
Oh yes, I almost forgot: Some time later - sell the airline.

"Thumperdown it is a tad misleading to quote that one-way fare. BA always are dear for a one way ticket, and let's be honest who is likely to just buy a one way fare to NQY from LGW. However booking a return on BA turns your prices on their head and they work out cheaper than ASW."

Its not at all misleading - it was what was quoted on the respective websites.

BA will probably use a 737 -500 / 300 aircraft and not a 436. But to drop Newcastle and start Newquay ???????????

What about BACX IOM / INV routes to LGW whos doing them ?
